ABOUT BLAKE

Blake believes Arizona’s best days lay ahead. He understands with proper reinvestment in public education and keeping Arizona economically competitive we can create an economy that works for everyone. With degrees in Chemical Engineering and Education, Blake is uniquely qualified to solve the complex and difficult problems our state faces.

Blake worked for Intel Corporation in Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain for 28 years. He has held multiple positions at Intel including his final eight years as Director of Supply Chain in the equipment and construction sectors before retiring in 2013. Blake is a certified LEAN six sigma instructor, trained in System Thinking at MIT and in Leading Change at University of Virginia.

Blake is currently an adjunct faculty at Grand Canyon University in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology.

Blake spent 18 months as an Encore Fellow with Science Foundation Arizona in 2014 and 2015. He worked to improve STEM education across the state of Arizona through work on curriculum, policy, and indicators. Blake established the AZ STEM Network.

Blake recently completed a Fellowship with the Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy which provides leaders with the knowledge, skills, and commitment to address the state’s critical long-term issues.

Blake and his wife Cindy have been Gilbert residents for more than 25 years. They have two children who both graduated from Gilbert Public Schools and are currently attending university. Blake and Cindy have attended Dayspring United Methodist church in Tempe for more than 25 years. He enjoys spending time with his family, gardening and is an avid runner.
